The National Communications Commission would soon prosecute four suspects arrested for illegal registration SIM cards in Kano.
Alhaji Salisu Abdul, NCC complaince officer in Kano, disclosed this while parading some of suspects on Thursday.
"We need to do this (enforcement) in order to secure data of subscribers as well as for security.
"With illegal SIM registration criminals can commit atrocities without detection," he said.
Abdul added that the full wrath of the law would be applied on culprits after due legal processes.
The NCC is carrying out this enforcement exercise in Kano, Jigawa and other Northwest states, as well as in the Northeast states.
A suspect, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on condition of anonymity, said that he had authorisation from a network provider to do the registration.
"I was given the right to register SIM cards legally. The issue is that one of their engineers hacked my system.
