Kerry Washington Tweets New Year Greetings To Nigerians In Igbo

Well what do you know? Star of the hit TV series, Scandal, Kerry Washington is truly embracing the Nigerian culture and more specifically the igbo culture and language
As she was sending out Happy New Year messages to her followers she surprised a few by tweeting one of her greetings in Igbo. She tweeted “Afo Gbara Aka Laa o” which more or less translates to “May The Year go without mishap.”


For those that don’t know Kerry Washington secretly married Nigerian NFL football player, Nnamdi Asomugha earlier this year, and the couple are expecting a baby pretty soon.
Big deal? Maybe not, but it’s Kerry Washington and everything related to her kinda becomes a big deal by default. Now if we can see her make fufu, speak igbo on scandal and go do traditional wedding in Imo State then the world will be at peace :)
