Jealous Boyfriend Forces Acid Down 26-Year-Old Lady's Throat For Wanting To Marry Another Man

According to family sources, Ijeoma left home around 9.30 that Saturday morning to her aunt's shop at the Tradefair complex to help with cleaning. By the time she was done by 4 that evening, she told the other lady she worked with that she was going to meet up with her boyfriend, who had come to the store earlier in the day to give her some kind of chemical to keep for him. The boyfriend then called Ijeoma and asked her to meet him at a hotel called Cossy Hotel at Abuleosun near Tradefair.

That was the last anyone heard from Ijeoma until the police alerted her family on Monday January 13th and told them that her body had been found in a bush near the hotel.
The supposedly boyfriend, Ifeanyi later confessed that he killed her by forcing the chemical, believed to be acid, down her throat, after which he strangled her. Ijeoma's family say he confessed to the police that he killed her because she wanted to marry someone else.

According to her family, after killing his girlfriend, Ifeanyi fled the hotel in a bike. It was the hotel staff that found her body and got someone to alert the police. But in the meantime they removed her corpse from their hotel and kept it in a nearby bush.

The deceased is from Ngwa, Abia state, while the alleged killer is from Enugu and until this incident, worked as an apprentice for a business owner at Tradefair. The case has been transferred to PANTI from Onireke Police station.
