Kanu warns Eagles to be wary
The former Nigerian international told supersport.com that the Super Eagles have made the job of reaching the World Cup finals in Brazil easier after defeating the Ethiopians 2-1 in Addis Ababa in the first leg.
But Kanu has now warned Stephen Keshi's men to hit the ground running at the UJ Esuene Stadium against the East Africans.
The 37-year-old also advised the Super Eagles to approach the game in a relaxed mood since Sewnet Bishaw's men have all to play for in Calabar.
The two-time winner of the African Footballer of the Year award, is confident that Nigeria will defeat Ethiopia and qualify for their fifth World Cup but would not want to make an outright prediction of Saturday's game.
"The players know what is stake and we all want to be in Brazil for the World Cup next year with the team. I am happy that the team won the first leg in Ethiopia. The first half in Ethiopia wasn't the best but the team did well in the second to win.
"This time I'm sure they will give the game everything from the start. They (the players) should not put themselves under pressure at all. Instead they need to relax and play their game as it is the Ethiopians who are now under pressure to win.
"In spite of all of that, I believe that we will win the game and qualify for the World as we all want to be part of the World Cup in Brazil next year. I won't want to make any prediction as I'm not good in doing that. But I'm sure we will win tomorrow," the former Arsenal and Inter Milan man, who doubles as ambassador for Unicef and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), told supersport.com in a telephone discussion on Friday.
Kanu has represented Nigeria at three Fifa World Cups in 1998, 2002 and 2010 and has been capped 87 times for the Super Eagles between 1994 and 2011.
